On Thursday, the Philadelphia 76ers made a trade with the Indiana Pacers to acquire Buddy Hield.

The former Oklahoma star had been in his second full season playing for Indiana and is currently averaging 12.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest while shooting 44.3% from the field and 38.4% from the three-point range in 52 games.

After the trade, Hield made a post to his Instagram story with a message.

Hield wrote: "Indy - thanks to the city and the fans for showing me such love from day 1!!! And a big thank you to the Pacers for being such a first class organization. It was an honor to be a @pacers the past 2 years!"

Hield was the sixth pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and is in his eighth season in the league.

In addition to the Pacers, he has also spent time with the New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings.

His career averages are 15.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest while shooting 43.4% from the field and 40.1% from the three-point range in 600 regular season games.

He has been an elite three-point shooter for his entire career.

As for the 76ers, they are the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 30-20 record in 50 games.

They are in the middle of a three-game losing streak and are 3-7 over their last ten games.

On Friday evening, the 76ers will host Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
