Cavaliers lose rookie Evan Mobley to elbow sprain vs. Celtics

The Cleveland Cavaliers' 98-92 loss to the Boston Celtics on Monday night was especially painful, as they lost one of the Rookie of the Year front-runners to injury late in the action.

Just 56 seconds into the fourth quarter, No. 3 overall pick Evan Mobley suffered a right elbow sprain and did not return to the contest.

Mobley has started and played in all 15 of the Cavs' games this season, averaging 14.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.6 blocks and 33.7 minutes per game. Mobley has also posted a 49.4/30.8/77.1 shooting line and has helped Cleveland get off to a 9-6 start this season.

The Cavaliers will next face the Brooklyn Nets at 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
