Cavs' Andre Drummond tips Florida waitress $1,000

As restaurants and service industry employees continue to face financial hardships due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, sports figures throughout the United States have done their parts to help.

New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas is leaving generous tips on food orders. Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson routinely pays it forward.

Add Cleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond to the list of athletes completing acts of good during troubling times.

On Sunday evening, Kassandra Diaz, a server at Che Restaurant in Delray Beach, shared how Drummond left her a $1,000 tip on a $164.25 bill following his meal via an Instagram post:

"When I was given the checkbook, I went to put in the tip & information to close the table and I couldn't believe it," the caption reads.

She added: "I was shaking and had tears of happiness after what he left me."

Drummond responded to the IG post: "Thank you for being amazing! @che.delray thank you for the hospitality of my family and I."

ESPN explained that Palm Beach County restaurants are operating at 25-percent capacity to enforce social-distancing guidelines during the uncontrolled virus outbreak.
