The Cavaliers are hosting workouts involving multiple veteran free agents this week, with former Raptors and Rockets guard Armoni Brooks among those coming to town, per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

Others taking part in the workouts include small forward Kelan Martin and power forward Mamadi Diakite, Fedor reported.

Brooks, 24, is 6-foot-3 and signed a pair of 10-day deals with the Raptors after the trade deadline, then eventually landed a two-year deal.

He played fairly well with the Rockets for 41 games before that, averaging 6.2 points. He was waived by Toronto in late July.

The workouts are taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday, Fedor reported, with the Cavs still on the lookout for a little help in reserve following the Donovan Mitchell trade. Additional perimeter shooting appears to be a priority.

Martin, 27, is 6-5 and once earned the nickname “Baby Shaq.” He appeared in 30 games total last season, most with the Pacers, averaging 6.3 points on 42 percent shooting. He also played three for the Celtics and spent time with the Timberwolves before that.

Diakite, 25, is 6-9 and appeared in 14 games with the Bucks as a rookie in 2020-21, as well as 13 games last season with the Thunder.

The Cavs are expected to open training camp on Sept. 27 or 28.
