Here’s something that may not be a surprise — the Cavaliers have no intention of trading center Jarrett Allen ahead of the Feb. 8 deadline.

They may not take trade offers on his over the summer, either. But they’re definitely not before the deadline. We already know that’s the case with star guard Donovan Mitchell.

Nonetheless, when you play as well as Allen and Mitchell have, opposing teams will call. And the Cavs will tell those teams the same on both players — don’t bother asking.

This was something that was reiterated by Marc Stein of The Stein Line, who passed along info from Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report/TNT.

“The Cavaliers, per Haynes, likewise have no interest in fielding trade interest in Jarrett Allen leading up to the Feb. 8 deadline,” Stein wrote. “Which makes tons of sense given that the Cavaliers, since announcing in mid-December that Darius Garland (jaw) and Evan Mobley (knee) had both sustained long-term injuries, are in the midst of a 14-4 surge … with Allen averaging 18.3 points and 12.9 rebounds per game in that span.”

More specifically, the Cavs (27-16) have won nine of 10, highlighted by Friday’s win at Milwaukee. Better yet, Mobley is expected to make his return from a six-week absence on Monday.

So Allen? Available? Yeah, forget it.

Allen, 25, is averaging 15.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, a career-high 3.0 assists and 1.1 blocks, shooting 65 percent from the field.

Cleveland currently sits in fifth place in the Eastern Conference (entering Sunday night), a half-game behind the New York Knicks.
