77 year old Boston Celtics legendary broadcaster Mike Gorman will be calling it a career after this upcoming season. There simply will be never be a better basketball broadcasting duo than Gorman and the late Tommy Heinsohn (or trio with Bob Cousy). For older Celtics fans Johnny Most was the voice of the Celtics and some younger fans love Sean Grande, but to me there will never be a better voice of the team than Mike Gorman.

If the team can somehow win the title this year, that would be a story book ending for Gorman on the job. But I don't care who the team replaces Gorman with, it will never be the same without him calling the games. He's to the Celtics what Joe Castiglione is to the Red Sox. At least for me that is. The voice of the team in my childhood, away in college, and my adulthood.

Wishing Mike a fantastic final season, and great health and happiness moving forward.
