Celtics' Jaylen Brown should be ready for training camp after wrist surgery

The Boston Celtics confirmed on Monday that forward Jaylen Brown will miss the remainder of the season and require surgery to repair a torn scapholunate ligament in his left wrist.

Boston announced on Thursday that Brown underwent a successful procedure and is on track to resume basketball activities in approximately three months. Assuming the 2021-22 NBA calendar is more normal despite continued concerns related to COVID-19, the 24-year-old should be ready for training camp based on the timeline offered by the Celtics.

Per ESPN stats, Brown ended his season second on the team with 24.7 points per game and was also averaging 6.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.2 steals across 58 games.

The Celtics fell to 35-35 on the campaign following Wednesday's loss at the Cleveland Cavaliers and have two more games left on their regular-season schedule. They clinched a berth in the play-in tournament and would face the Charlotte Hornets if that portion of the postseason began Thursday night.
