Celtics PG Kemba Walker to make season debut vs. Knicks

The Boston Celtics will receive a significant boost to their lineup on Sunday when they take on the New York Knicks.

Boston announced that point guard Kemba Walker is available to make his season debut. According to Chris Grenham of Forbes, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said Walker would be on a minutes restriction.

The 30-year-old missed Boston's first 11 games of the season while recovering from a left knee injury that required a stem cell injection in October.

In his first season with the Celtics, Walker averaged 20.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 42.5% from the field and 38.1% from deep. He missed the last half of the 2019-20 campaign while dealing with his knee issues.

While Walker will return, the Celtics will be without Jayson Tatum, Robert Williams and Carsen Edwards due to health and safety protocols. The team has not been able to field their full starting lineup at all this season.
