The Celtics have waived forward Jake Layman and point guard Eric Demers, per Keith Smith of Spotrac.

Layman, 28, is 6-foot-8 and spent the last three seasons with the Timberwolves — though that role decreased with each season.

He appeared in just 34 games in 2021-22. He spent the first three years of his career with the Trail Blazers, then averaged a career-high 9.1 points in 2019-20 with Minnesota.

Demers, 25, is 6-foot-1 and spent last season with the Maine Celtics, averaging 8.1 points and 1.6 rebounds in 24 games.

He went undrafted out of Division III Gordon College in Wenham, Mass., in 2020, then signed on with the Spurs’ summer team. After that, he headed to the G League.

In case you missed it, the Celtics have decided t keep center/forward Noah Vonleh, as we relayed right here.
