The Cleveland Charge have acquired the returning player rights to guard/forward Nate Hinton of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants for the rights to center Norvel Pelle and the Charge’s second-round pick in the 2023 G League Draft.

Hinton, 23, is 6-foot-5 and signed with the Pacers last September. He was waived a month later, but returned to Indiana on a 10-day contract in December. He then signed a two-way deal with the Pacers on April 7.

He appeared in two NBA games last season, and 21 with the Mavericks the year before that as a rookie. He averaged 8.7 points and 5.6 rebounds with the Mad Ants, the Pacers’ G League affiliate.

Pelle, 29, is 6-10 and appeared in three games with the Jazz last season. He actually was signed and waived by the Cavs in December 2020 to become an affiliate player for the Charge.

He has also spent time with the 76ers, Nets, Kings and Knicks. He also signed a 10-day deal with the Celtics last season, but did not log any minutes. Most recently, Pelle signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Trail Blazers in August, but was waived last month.

The Charge and Mad Ants tip off their respective seasons in early November.
