Charles Barkley says the Knicks will make the playoffs

by Mark Fishman

Never one to filter himself, former NBA star and current TNT basketball analyst Charles Barkley has made yet another outrageous statement.

Despite coming off of a 2014-15 campaign in which the Knicks posted a dismal 17-65 record, Barkley seems to have a tremendous amount of confidence in head coach Derek Fisher's group.

"The Knicks are one of my sleeper teams. I think they will make the playoffs," Barkley said Monday. "I think Phil Jackson’s done a good job getting quality NBA players."

Barkley continued: "Porzingis, he’s obviously a young kid with tremendous upside … Lopez is a legitimate NBA player, Arron Afflalo is an NBA player, Grant is an NBA player, you got Derrick Williams. They've got actual NBA players."

Finally Barkley capped it all of by saying: "I’m picking the Knicks to make the playoffs. I’m guaranteeing it!"

While no one is arguing that the Knicks don't have "actual NBA players," Sir Charles may be going a bit too far here guaranteeing that they'll make the playoffs. Yes, the Eastern Conference is weak, but the Knicks have a long way to go.

Still, Chuck, never close that mouth of yours!
