The Chicago Bulls are shuffling their deck in a last-ditch effort at a spot in this season's NBA Playoffs. According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the team is set to acquire former Indiana Pacer Terry Taylor, who will become a two-way player for the Bulls, replacing the spot vacated by Malcolm Hill.

Good impression

The undersized left-handed forward has made an impression with the Bulls after his stellar performance in the Pacers' 116-110 come-from-behind win over Chicago last January 24. In that game, the 6-foot-5 forward from Austin Peay State University tallied 11 points, five rebounds, an assist, and a block in 20 minutes of action.

Clearly, Taylor had been on the Bulls' radar since last season after he torched them for 21 points, 14 rebounds, and five assists in a 122-115 win.

The Kentucky native was a prominent piece of the Pacers' rotation last season, playing in 33 games and averaging 9.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in 21 minutes on the floor. However, this season, playing time has been scarce as Taylor has played in just 26 games, averaging a mere eight minutes per outing.

May have a role

The Bulls have a 26-33 record and have lost six in a row but are still clinging to a chance of making the playoffs.

Taylor's energy, defensive intensity, and rebounding prowess may give them an extra spark off the bench that could help push them into postseason play. With Javonte Green still recovering from knee surgery, there may be a path to minutes for Taylor.
