During an interview with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, Chris Childs called Michael Jordan one of the dirtiest players in NBA history.
Childs and Jordan faced each other 15 times in the NBA.
“And what people don’t understand is Michael was one of the dirtiest players who ever played the game,” Childs said. “He would cheap-shot you and then look at the ref for help.
“One thing that I stood on from the beginning is that I’m a man. Like you’re a man and I want to be treated accordingly. If you don’t treat me accordingly, then I’ll take that respect … and that’s one thing that when I stepped on the court, I let that be known from the beginning.”
Childs played for the New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors. He entered the NBA in 1994 and retired in 2003.
Meanwhile, Jordan played for the Chicago Bulls (twice) and Washington Wizards. He entered the NBA in 1994 and retired for good in 2003.
With the Bulls, Jordan won one Defensive Player of the Year Award, three steals titles, 10 scoring titles, five MVPs, six championships and six Finals and made 12 All-Star teams, 11 All-NBA teams and nine All-Defensive teams.
Chicago went 6-0 in the NBA Finals during the Jordan, beating the Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns, Seattle SuperSonics and Utah Jazz (twice).
Arguably the best player in NBA history, Jordan was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009. He was also named to the 75th Anniversary Team in 2022.
Jordan is first in NBA history in points per game in the regular season and postseason. He averaged 30.1 points in the regular season and 33.4 points in the playoffs.
