Emoni Bates is in his rookie season with the  Cleveland Cavaliers, but has spent most of the year in the G League with the Cleveland Charge (he is on a two-way contract). 

On Monday, it was announced that Bates had been suspended two games (without pay) for an alleged incident after a recent G League game. 

Via Marc J. Spears of ESPN's Andscape: "Cleveland Charge forwards Emoni Bates and Gabe Osabuohien have each been suspended for two games without pay for entering the spectator stands at the conclusion of the Charge’s 126-105 road loss to the Birmingham Squadron on Jan. 20."

Bates was the 49th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft out of Eastern Michigan.  

He has played in ten games for the Cavs and is averaging 1.8 points and 1.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 24.0% from the field and 25.0% from the three-point range.

ESPN's Bobby Marks reported the financial details of the suspension. 

Via Marks: "Bates is on a Two-Way contract. 

He faces the same financial penalty as a player on a standard contract- 1/145 of his pay per game. 

Total= $7,721"

As for the Cavs, they are the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 25-15 record in their first 40 games.  

They are 8-2 over their last ten games and are in the middle of a seven-game winning streak. 

Most recently, the Cavs beat the Atlanta Hawks by a score of 116-95. 

On Monday evening, they will face off against Paolo Banchero and the Orlando Magic in Florida.
