Things have not changed when it comes to James Harden and the 76ers.

Actually, that’s not entirely true. They may be worse.

Harden still wants a trade, and now has gone viral for calling head of basketball operations Daryl Morey “a liar.” In fact, Harden called Morey that twice. Harden also said he’ll never play for the organization as long as Morey is in charge.

What’s so weird about all this is Harden and Morey have been known to be close, dating back to their time together with the Rockets. But families do fight.

Anyway, Harden’s stance remains the same. He wants a trade, and per Brandon Robinson of Bally Sports, Harden is still seeking a deal to the Clippers.

“He’d fit,” a high-ranking Clippers official told Robinson.

That said, word is, Morey and the 76ers have halted trade talks with everyone, including the Clippers. Word also is that Morey would have no issue with bringing back Harden and letting things play out.

This is certainly not the first uncomfortable moment for Morey, and if there’s one thing we can say, it’s that he doesn’t shy away from them.

But for now, Harden wants out, and for now, he is angling for a deal to the Clippers, where the idea would be to team with star forwards Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

Meanwhile, Morey and the Sixers remain firm in their stance that they will only trade Harden for players who keep them in contention. Do the Clippers have those players? Guess we will soon find out.
