Luka Doncic has been on a tear all season long for the Dallas Mavericks. Turns out, the Slovenian star has gained a fan in Tim Legler, a former NBA sharpshooter and current analyst for ESPN, after impressing him with his stellar play on the court.
Ever since he entered the league in 2018, Doncic has continually impressed everybody by showcasing his offensive brilliance on a nightly basis. During his first year in the league, the then-Mavericks rookie averaged 21.2 points 7.8 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
Now in his sixth year in the NBA, Doncic has proven time and time again why he’s among the chosen few who can help any franchise contend in an instant. Over the course of 70 games, the Mavericks All-Star guard led the league in scoring by dropping 33.9 points on 48 percent shooting from the field, 38 percent from deep, and 78 percent from the free throw line. He’s also making 9.2 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per contest this season.
Along with those numbers, Doncic has led Dallas to the fifth seed in the Western Conference. It should be remembered that earlier this season, things weren’t lookin so great for the Mavs. Thanks to timely acquisitions in Daniel Gafford and PJ Washington, a rejuvenated Kyrie Irving, Doncic has been unleashed, leading a lot of MVP votes to go his way soon.
Dallas Mavericks Star Receives Massive Praise From Former NBA Sharpshooter
Among the many personalities who have been impressed with Doncic’s performance this season is Tim Legler, former NBA star and one of the best shooters of his era. In a post shared by Noah Weber on X:

In response to Legler’s praise for Doncic, Dallas Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban tweeted his thoughts on his official X account:
Cuban has been pushing Doncic to win the MVP award all season long. It only makes sense since the Slovenian guard has consistently played well and broken significant records throughout the past few months.
It’s only a matter of time before the regular season MVP is announced. And even if he doesn’t win the said award, there’s no denying Doncic played like the best player in the league this year.
