The story of former NBA player Delonte West has apparently turned for the worse. In the latest chapter, fans spotted West panhandling on the streets. In the video, West appears to be asking a fan passing by for change.

An image surfaced later on Twitter, showing West standing on the streets in Alexandria, Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C.

Just two weeks ago, West was highlighted at tryouts in Washington, D.C. for Ice Cube’s Big3 League. He was selected for the league’s draft pool. However, he was not selected in last month’s draft held in Las Vegas.

In 2020, a video West in rough shape on the streets of D.C. went viral. Later that year, he was once again seen on the streets but in Dallas. That’s when Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban personally picked West up and helped him get into a Florida rehab facility. West even got a job there.

Unfortunately, his recovery was short-lived, West was arrested this past October in Florida following an encounter with police. According to WPTV, he banged on the door of the Boynton Beach police department while holding a bottle of beer. He was confronted by police and eventually tasered.

West has spoked previously about his struggles with bipolar disorder.

West starred at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, Maryland before playing collegiately at St. Joseph’s (PA). He was a first-round draft pick of the Boston Celtics in 2004. He played for four NBA teams, last with the Mavericks in 2012.

He also played overseas and had two stints with the Texas Legends in the G-League.

However, recently the name Delonte West has been synonymous with negative and concerning headlines.
