DeMar DeRozan describes Kobe Bryant's last game as 'an Avengers movie'

Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant had one of the most memorable last career games in NBA history, and according to San Antonio Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan, the legendary performance was as epic as watching Iron Man and Captain America team up to take on Thanos.

DeRozan compared Bryant's last game to the last games of other greats, noting that players typically go out on a quiet note, including the incomparable Michael Jordan.

"Remember Michael Jordan’s last game, when his team was losing and the fans were all rooting for him to go back in the game?" DeRozan wrote for the Los Angeles Times. "Jordan mostly just stood up and waved. So many of the guys I’ve been fans of, when they retire, they just kind of go out quietly."

Bryant's finale was an entirely different experience. Before the game, his former teammate Shaquille O'Neal told him to score 50, but Bryant did him one (or 10, to be exact) better. The five-time champion scored 60 points in his final game, including hitting the go-ahead shot to help the Lakers beat the Utah Jazz.

"This was different. This was like an Avengers movie," DeRozan wrote. "Twenty years from now, if you want to show someone what kind of player Kobe Bryant was, it’s all in this game. That’s amazing, man."
