Washington Wizards forward Deni Avdija told NBA reporters that he felt Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James should’ve checked on him after elbowing him in the head.

LeBron elbowed Avdija on April 3.

“I don’t think he did it on purpose,” Avdija said. “I at least expected like if I get hit in the face or I hit somebody in the face, I expect to go and check on him. I felt like he didn’t do it. So, that got me a little bit pissed off.

“At the end of the day, it’s sports. I’m going to get hit, I don’t care, even if I get concussed. Part of it is just being a person and coming and asking, ‘How are you feeling?’ It just shows good sportsmanship. I felt like he didn’t do it, which is okay. It’s fine. I got over it.”

LeBron was called for a Flagrant 1 foul. The Lakers wound up beating the Wizards by a final score of 125-120.

Los Angeles has won four games in a row. The team is 45-33 on the season, good for eighth place in the Western Conference standings.

Despite being the oldest player (39) in the NBA, LeBron is still putting up elite numbers. He’s averaging 25.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 8.2 assists while shooting 53.6% from the field, 41.3% from beyond the arc and 74.6% from the free-throw line.

The Lakers are seventh in the NBA in points per game, 23rd in points per game allowed and 19th in net rating. They are 9-1 over their last 10 games.

“We’re very confident in our ballclub,” Lakers big man Anthony Davis said. “We laugh about, like, ‘Oh, winning nine out of 10,’ and we haven’t went anywhere [in the standings]. So, it’s how good the West is. But we’re confident, very confident in our ballclub and any time we step on the floor.”

The Lakers are back in action tonight (4/7) against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
