Denver Nuggets 2022-23 Betting Guide

There is a lot of excitement in Denver this season. After a couple of bad years of brutal health, they appear to be ready to make a real run in the Western Conference.

It helps when you are adding talents like Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr to two-time MVP Nikola Jokic. The big man shows no signs of slowing down either.

This team has elite talent but not as much depth as they would like. That means the health question has to be taken off the table for them to do anything significant.

It if is, the sky is the limit.

2021-22 Year in Review

Considering Murray did not play a game last year and MPJ only played 9, the Nuggets had a very good regular season. Jokic was awesome and the Nuggets finished only a game behind Utah in the Northwest Division.

Denver did come apart in the playoffs, losing in the first round to the Golden State Warriors. At that point, their lack of star power beyond Jokic was magnified but overall the season was positive. Especially the development of guard Bones Hyland (which enabled them to trade Monte Morris this offseason).

2022-23 Denver Nuggets Futures

Northwest Division: -160
Western Conference: +850
NBA Title: +2000

There is a lot to like about the Nuggets coming into this season. They are potentially adding two All-Star-level players back from injury to ease the heavy burden on Jokic. Not that he really needs it. His all-around game continues to shine and he is as durable as any elite player in the NBA. The returns of Murray and Porter mean that forward Aaron Gordon can slide back to being an athletic energy player, instead of someone they need to score every night. That is not what he is suited for.

Denver also made a nice move in picking up wing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. His days of being a featured offensive player are long gone but he is a good defender and a good enough range shooter. The addition of another wing Bruce Brown, who can also guard multiple positions is underrated too. He gives this team an edge too and they need it. I am very bullish on Denver right now.

Denver Nuggets - Bets To Consider

Denver to Win Western Conference +850 / NBA Title +2000

The NBA does not have a comeback player of the year award, otherwise, Murray and Porter would be great candidates. Even if they did, I am not sure I would get away from backing the Nuggets to win the West and perhaps even their first NBA title.

I am not saying they are the best bet, but at those prices, you are getting a team with perhaps the best player in the NBA and one that is coming into the season without some of the distractions of other groups. They might not be as accomplished, but this feels a lot like Milwaukee before they won it all a couple of years ago. Those prices offer great hedging opportunities too. A factor that cannot be overlooked.
