The Denver Nuggets saw their win streak end at six games after getting throttled by the Phoenix Suns at home Tuesday night to the tune of a 117-107 score. The Nuggets were especially hurt by a poor showing in the second period in which they were outscored by the Suns by 19 points.

Jamal Murray Sounds Off On Denver Nuggets’ Loss To The Phoenix Suns

However, Denver Nuggets star point guard Jamal Murray refused to pin the blame solely on how his team fared in that said quarter.

“It’s not just one quarter. We missed a lot of good looks to even bring ourselves back. It was just frustrating, man,” Murray said after the game (via Bennett Durando of The Denver Post).

The Denver Nuggets were able to force overtime with a sizzling fourth quarter, but they ultimately failed to complete the comeback bid by faltering on both ends of the court in extra time.

“Just frustrating. You put a lot of energy and effort to make up for that quarter and you come out with a loss. It’s tough to go back home at night,” Murray added.

Murray shined in the loss, though. He paced the Nuggets against the Suns with 28 points on 12/25 shooting from the field and added seven rebounds, nine assists, a steal, and two 3-pointers in 42 minutes. If anything, at least he looked healthy. It can be remembered that he recently had an injury scare during last Thursday’s win at home over the Miami Heat.

The Denver Nuggets Will Look To Bounce Back And Get Back To Their Winning Ways In A Marquee Showdown On Thursday

The Nuggets will have to move on quickly from their defeat to the Suns. Coming up next for the reigning NBA champions is a potential NBA Finals preview matchup against Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics at Mile High City.

Like the Nuggets, the Celtics are also coming off a streak-snapping loss, with Boston getting humbled by the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road on Tuesday.
