While the Denver Nuggets are still the team to beat this season, it's clear that the team could still use some additional pieces before the playoffs begin. As it turns out, they may be looking for some backcourt help.

According to a report from Marc Stein, the Denver Nuggets are interested in having some backcourt reinforcements and have interest in Washington Wizards guard Delon Wright.

Wright is a 31-year-old shooting guard registered at 6'5" who has played in the NBA for 8 years. This season, he's averaging 4.4 points, 2.8 assists, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.0 steals on 39/37/81 shooting. His numbers are all relatively low due to only playing 15.2 minutes a game. Last season, Wright was averaging 7.4 points, 3.9 assists, 3.6 assists, and 1.8 steals on 47/34/87.

If Wright's previous seasons have shown anything, it's that he's capable of being an efficient shooter when given the opportunity to play more minutes. How Wright could help the Nuggets remains to be seen. Reggie Jackson is the backup point guard for the team, and Christian Braun is the backup shooting guard. While Braun hasn't exactly been the 6th man-type player that Denver envisioned, he could still be a better option than Delon Wright. Denver's interest in Wright could be for wanting a more veteran backup shooting guard.

The NBA trade deadline is shortly approaching, so fans will know very soon what moves the Nuggets actually make.
