Dillon Brooks gets last laugh in war of words with Draymond Green

Engaged in a nasty war of words over the last two weeks, Brooks and Draymond Green met on the court Thursday for the first time since the start of their quarrel. While the two briefly butted heads during the game, Brooks walked away with the last laugh, helping the Memphis Grizzlies top the Golden State Warriors 131-110.
All eyes were on the pair throughout the night as the crowd awaited a confrontation. They didn't have to wait long. With a minute to go in the first half, Brooks stole a Warriors' inbounds pass before laying up two points over Green. The two came face-to-face, with Brooks seemingly doing most of the jawing before officials broke things up.
After the game, Brooks revealed to TNT sideline reporter Jared Greenberg precisely what he said to Green during their altercation.
"Keep doing his podcast, keep blogging, keep doing his thing off the court," Brooks said. "It's cute. It's fun for him."
The brouhaha between the two started last week when Brooks told ESPN he didn't like Green. Once word reached Green, he responded on his podcast, calling Brooks an "idiot" while citing him as the reason why the Grizzlies aren't ready to compete for an NBA title.
When asked later on Thursday about Green's podcast comments, Brooks took another shot at Green, saying, "I ain't out there getting into physical altercations with my teammates."
On the surface, the two players' dislike of one another has seemingly sparked a rivalry between the Grizzlies and Warriors. However, Green disagreed vehemently, saying, "Clearly, we've won four times, and I think their organization has zero championships, so I can't consider that a rivalry."
While the Grizzlies don't have the titles the Warriors do, they're certainly at Golden State's level roster-wise this season, if not better. With Thursday's victory, the Grizzlies improved to 39-26, six games up the big, bad Warriors (34-33).
