D.J. Augustin agrees to three-year, $21 million deal with Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks general manager Jon Horst is trying to add some key and depth pieces to surround Giannis Antetokounmpo in an effort to convince the two-time MVP to stay with the team past the 2020-21 season. While he has already added a number of players, it appears he's not done yet.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bucks have signed D.J. Augustin to a three-year, $21 million deal. The news comes moments after Milwaukee signed Bobby Portis to a two-year, $7.5 million deal.

Augustin signing with the Bucks comes after he spent four seasons with the Orlando Magic. During the 2019-20 campaign, the 33-year-old averaged 10.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 39.9 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from deep.

The New Orleans native has also played for the Charlotte Hornets, Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets and Toronto Raptors.

Milwaukee's biggest move of the offseason came in the form of trading for New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday. If the Bucks want to keep Antetokounmpo around longer and prevent him from signing with a team like the Miami Heat, who are interested in him, Horst is going to have to do a bit more in free agency.
