Double Vision: Warriors’ Steph Curry cooking again
This space aims to identify players who represent good value for recording a double-double in a particular game. If they post double-digit totals in any two of the five main categories (points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals), backers will at least double their money – and sometimes make much more than that.
The bet: A double-double for Warriors guard Steph Curry (+675 DraftKings)
Perhaps you’re familiar with Curry, the four-time champion and two-time league MVP. After missing 11 games with a leg injury, he scored 27 points and dished out six assists in his return to action against the Lakers on Sunday. His 32 minutes played also indicated that coach Steve Kerr wasn’t enforcing much of a restriction.
Tonight Curry is in Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder. He famously hit a game-winning shot there seven years ago, sinking a 3-pointer from just inside halfcourt to deliver an overtime victory. On his last trip to OKC at the end of January, he tortured the Thunder again with 38 points and 12 dimes.
Curry has accumulated double figures in assists or rebounds exactly six times each this season, resulting in 11 double-doubles and a triple-double across his 39 starts. But getting there via pinpoint passing has been more common throughout his career, and he benefits from having another strong finisher now that Andre Iguodala has returned from an injury of his own.
