Each week, the Draft Digest team picks an NBA rookie from each conference as the best player of the week.

Over the past week, two of the best rookies in the league have been guards on rebuilding teams. With expanded opportunity, these two first-year players have thrived on the offensive end.

Who brought home the hardware this week?

Eastern Conference

Vasilije Micic ( Charlotte Hornets)

Stats Since Last Week: 4 GP | 15.5 PPG | 7.0 APG | 3.3 RPG | 42.9% 3PT

Since being acquired by the Hornets at the trade deadline, Micic has been given more opportunities and has become one of the most productive rookies in the league. Over the past week specifically, he's generated a significant amount of points for his team, through both scoring for himself and dishing the rock to others.

The 30-year-old has earned an 81 FGS from Cerebro Sports, which quantifies his passing and handling upside as a facilitator. Micic has truly been a catalyst for Charlotte's offense since joining the team.

Western Conference

Keyonte George (Utah Jazz)

Stats Since Last Week: 2 GP | 27.5 PPG | 6.0 APG | 3.0 RPG | 55.6% 3PT

Although he only played two games this week, George is playing the best basketball of his NBA career. After scoring 30 points last week, he eclipsed the 25-point mark twice this week. Even then, he's doing more than just scoring — he's also been one of the league's top passers of late.

Sure, George has trouble at times taking care of the ball. But that's expected from a high-usage rookie who is asked to carry a large load offensively. As of today, it appears Utah found its point guard of the future.
