In a segment on 'The Draymond Green Show,' the 4x NBA champion gave his honest thoughts on the NBA's newest rookie sensation, Victor Wembanyama. The star big man has yet to make his mark on the league but Green says he's already among the top 20 players in the game right now.

“Victor Wembanyama is probably a top-20 player in the NBA right now," said Draymond. "With that skillset, with that length, with that jump shot -- his jump shot is absolutely beautiful. In San Antonio with that staff, that kid... watch out."

Draymond went on to compare Victor to his biggest rival right now (Chet Homgren) and pointed out just how far apart they are from each other in terms of star potential.

"Chet Holmgren is a very good player and I know there's been a comparison among those two but I will tell you, I think there's a gap between Chet Homgren and Victor Wembanyama. Wembanyama is just different. Kid's special, absolutely special."

The Spurs have been awful this season and it was turning a lot of critics off to the idea of Wemby as Rookie of the Year. But since a few months ago, Victor has been on fire and he's been playing at a level very rarely ever reached by rookies or any athlete of his age.

This season, the best that Victor can hope for is some post-season accolades but he's already making a name for himself in this league and it seems he's already put the world on notice about what he can do when he's at his best. If the Spurs can unlock the peak version of his game, it may lead to the rise of the next great NBA dynasty.

Is Victor Wembanyama The Next Face Of The NBA?

Victor faced pressure to perform from day one and he's more than lived up to the hype so far. Through 58 games this season, he's averaging an impressive stat line of 20.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game on 46.7% shooting.

At 7-4 and over 200 pounds, Wemby's size and unique skillset make him impossible to guard and he's had years of training overseas to perfect his craft on the court. Already, he's showing great improvement in all areas of the floor and belief is growing that he can be the next face of the NBA itself.

And while Draymond Green may be among Victor's most vocal supporters, he's just one of many players (both former and current) who have expressed their faith in Wembanyama's superstar trajectory. Kevin Durant recently gave him the stamp of approval and Shaquille O'Neal has already welcomed him to the famed "big man alliance."

At this point, after months of putting his talents on display, there is no doubt that Victor is one of the best young players in the game right now and everyone can recognize that he will be a featured face of the league for many years to come.

The only thing holding back Wemby from ultimate recognition is more success as a team. As the leader of the worst team in the West, Victor needs to start winning before he can compare to the all-time greats but his chances of success look pretty good considering how well he's started off so far.
