Golden State Warriors swingman Klay Thompson is one of the most beloved players in basketball.

He has clearly always marched to the beat of his own drum, but his spirit and general demeanor are so appealing that folks can’t help but appreciate him.

Recently, Thompson reminded one and all once again why so many hold him in such high esteem.

A few weeks ago Draymond Green appeared on a Bleacher Report AMA and divulged the funniest story about his teammate.

“In a hotel in Miami, he ran into a wall and busted his eye open with stitches,” Green recalled.

“He tried to lie to us and get his friend to lie and say he got into a fight at the club. When you’re leaving the club in Miami, you’re not always sober and he tried to tell us he got into a fight.”

Thompson is a character – there’s no way around it.

Whether he’s honoring a dying person’s wish or keeping his teammates in line, Thompson is definitely one of a kind.

It’s going to be really fun to have him back in the NBA, balling it up, come next season.
