It's been a tough couple of weeks for Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons. Not only his team was knocked out of the playoffs again but also people started questioning his character and work ethic. He's been pointed as the guy to blame for their meltdown.

That's why, following several days in complete ostracism, the former first-overall pick shared a heartfelt message in the wake of his 25th birthday:

"Reflecting back I’ve experienced some amazing highs and with that, some of the lowest lows. Life’s a journey.. I’ll always remain relentless and remain human through it all. Here’s to my 25 year #Relentlesspursuit doing what I love on my bday I’m blessed," Simmons wrote on the post.

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green took to the post to voice his support for him, letting him know that he's way better than what people are saying right now:

"Man stop letting these people get in your head young King. Enjoy your birthday, basketball ain't go nothing to do with it, so don't let them intertwine life and basketball for you. Enjoy your life and enjoy hoop. You've earned earned [sic] both! You don't owe anybody anything! You have earned everything you have! Happy born day brotha!" Green told Simmons in the comments.

There's no doubt that Ben Simmons is a unique kind of player. He's talented enough to become a generational star but he needs to get mentally stronger to fulfill his potential.

Simmons is one of the best playmakers in the league and he can guard one through five. But maybe he just needs a change of environment and a different support cast around him to be at his best, and with the Philadelphia 76ers considering moving him, the Warriors are definitely a team to keep an eye on.
