While Kevin Huerter was available in trade talks during the offseason, Jake Fischer of Bleacher report hears rival teams feel the shooting guard is not on the trade block.

Huerter’s teammate, John Collins, is much more available. Fischer hears from one front office executive that the Hawks are “not in love” with Collins, adding that the two sides were never really close on an extension.

Atlanta is reportedly looking for a future lottery pick in exchange for Collins. That may be a high asking price but if the big man is on the roster past the trade deadline, it doesn’t mean he’ll walk for nothing in free agency, as the Hawks can match any offer. Fischer suggests that working on a sign-and-trade is a feasible option for the franchise.

“They’re gonna make sure they get something for him,” one executive said.

More From Around The Eastern Conference

  • The Heat have interest in trading for Rudy Gay, per 5ReasonsSports. San Antonio has multiple veterans that are available and LaMarcus Aldridge is also an option. Both players are on expiring deals and Miami a variety of contracts that would make salary-matching an easy feat.
  • Cole Anthony will miss extended time for the Magic, as he recovers from a fracture in his rib, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports. The rookie will not play again until after the All-Star break. Michael Carter-Williams is the top point guard remaining in Orlando.

  • Joel Embiid, who missed Monday’s Sixers-Jazz game with back tightness, is listed as probable to play on Wednesday as the team hosts the Rockets in Philadelphia. Coach Doc Rivers previously indicated that Embiid’s absence at the tail end of the road trip was not a sign of a long-term problem.
