Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch says guard Anthony Edwards is "trending towards" playing Wednesday against the Spurs.

Edwards missed the last two games after sustaining a right hip pointer injury in last week's 106-103 win over the Thunder. The 22-year-old fell hard on his hip in the third quarter and was in significant pain. He left the game and hasn't played since, though he has returned to practice.

In his fourth year, Edwards has missed just 15 total games due to injury or health precautions. Minnesota has gone 11-4 in games without Edwards.

Jaden McDaniels and Jordan McLaughlin, meanwhile, are getting closer to returning from injuries. The Timberwolves announced Tuesday that McDaniels has been "cleared to participate in individual on-court player development basketball and strength training activities" and McLaughlin has been "cleared to participate in full, five-on-five on-court basketball activities."

McDaniels has been out with a sprained ankle since Nov. 20 and McLaughlin hasn't played since Nov. 2 because of a MCL sprain in his right knee.

After Wednesday night's game against the Spurs, a game that will be the first nationally televised Wolves game of the season (ESPN at 6:30 p.m. CT), Minnesota embarks on a three-game, seven-day road trip as they look to extend their league best 15-4 record.
