NBA free agent Kevin Porter Jr. finalized a plea agreement on Tuesday in a Manhattan court about an incident with his former partner and WNBA athlete Kysre Gondrezick.

Under the terms of the deal, Porter pled to third-degree reckless assault, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation. If Porter successfully completes a program mandated by the court, he can withdraw his plea after a year.

Porter’s legal team stated that this agreement enables him to move past this incident, which they claim involved unfounded felony charges and inaccuracies, without a criminal record.

The arrest of Porter stemmed from an alleged altercation with Gondrezick at the Millennium Hilton in New York on September 11.

Although initial charges during his arraignment included claims of serious injuries to Gondrezick, including a fractured neck vertebra and a severe cut above her eye, prosecutors later dropped one of the assault charges in October. They acknowledged that Gondrezick did not sustain a neck fracture in the alleged incident.

In a statement to the New York Post in October, Gondrezick refuted claims that Porter had physically assaulted her, denying allegations that he had beaten her.

Following these events, the Rockets traded Porter to the Oklahoma City Thunder in October, which waived him.
