Feeling adventurous? Check out these plus-money NBA props

We're feeling a little frisky on this fine Wednesday afternoon, so we went hunting for some plus-money NBA props to sweat out while we enjoy the action. It'll be a great night if we cash just one of these juicy bets, but a mini sweep would set us up for a fun weekend of action ahead.

Hunting for NBA value on a hump day

Scottie Barnes triple-double (+800 DraftKings)

The Toronto Raptors' disappointing season has turned into a showcase for Scottie Barnes. Over his last seven games, Barnes is averaging 18.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and 8.6 assists with a usage rate of 24 percent. Now he gets to face a Dallas Mavericks team that gives up the second-most total rebounds per game and the fourth-most assists per game to opposing power forwards.

Raptors center Jakob Poeltl is also questionable to play with an ankle injury, and if he doesn't suit up, Barnes should take over as Toronto's No. 1 rebounding option. This is well worth a sprinkle at +800.

Norman Powell 5+ made threes (+500 FanDuel)

Norman Powell has been a solid contributor for the Los Angeles Clippers all season, but he steps up his game even more when L.A. isn't fully healthy. In four games without Paul George in the lineup this year, Powell is averaging 19.3 points and is 12-24 from beyond the arc. The shooting guard drained five threes on nine attempts the last time George sat, and PG will be out again Wednesday night.

Powell is 14-25 from three-point land over his last three games, hitting this prop twice in that span. This is also a great matchup against a Los Angeles Lakers team that surrenders the third-most three-pointers per game to opposing teams. Stay hot, Norm.

In the news ...

Recapping a wild night in hoops — If you ignored the NBA and college basketball action from Tuesday night, you sure missed a lot. In the Association, Max Strus drilled a 60-foot heave at the buzzer to lift the Cleveland Cavaliers over the Dallas Mavericks in miraculous fashion. In college hoops, Reed Sheppard sunk a floater at the buzzer to complete Kentucky's comeback win against Mississippi State, and BYU dominated Kansas in the second half to give the Jayhawks their first home loss of the season. As if that wasn't enough, Jarod Lucas made his own buzzer-beating halfcourt shot to power Nevada to a crucial win at Colorado State. Is it March yet??

Shohei Ohtani goes yard in Dodgers debut — Shohei Ohtani wasted no time ingratiating himself with Los Angeles Dodgers fans. In his first spring training game since signing a 10-year, $700 million mega-contract, Ohtani homered to the opposite field in just his third at-bat with his new team. Despite the massive hype surrounding Ohtani and the Dodgers, the superstar is the fourth choice on the NL MVP odds board at +950.

Bears want to decide quarterback dilemma 'as quickly as possible' — Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles spoke to reporters at the NFL combine Tuesday, and although he didn't reveal the team's plans regarding Justin Fields and the No. 1 overall pick, he did say he wants to make a decision "as quickly as possible." Poles also noted he wants to give Fields the opportunity to thrive in a good situation if the Bears do decide to trade him and draft USC star Caleb Williams. Williams is a -1600 favorite to go first overall in April's draft.
