Former Indiana Pacers guard Gabe York currently plays for the Pacers G League affiliate team, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. This week, York won the G League Player of the Week award for the first week of the G League season.

The Mad Ants went just 2-2 during the opening week of action, but York was terrific. He averaged 31.3 points, 5.8 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.8 steals per game in the four games, and he shot 51.3% from the field. He was unstoppable and a big part of the Mad Ants success.

He also hit a game-winning shot in Fort Wayne's second game of the season. York did it all for the Pacers' affiliate club.

York is the 12th different Mad Ant to win Player of the Week. He is the first to do it since ex-Pacer Justin Anderson took home the honors last March.

At the end of the 2021-22 NBA season, York got his first NBA call up with the Indiana Pacers. He played in two games and averaged 4.0 points, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 rebounds per game on a two-way contract.

The Mad Ants next play on Tuesday, November 22, when they take on the Canton Charge. That game will take place in the Pacers home arena, Gainbridge Fieldhouse, so it will be a unique opportunity for York to continue his impressive stretch in a bigger gym.
