Ex-Jazzman Jeremy Evans made his way back to Utah last week to participate in a youth basketball camp put on by  Utah Jazz VP of Youth Programs Nate Martinez. Evans took a timeout to make the announcement on Twitter.

“Back with my guy @martineznate. Year 13 and still at it. So many memories and fun times with the @utahjazz. Nothing like seeing the kids have fun," Evans tweeted.

Although Evans never became a permanent fixture in the Jazz rotation, he was a fan favorite with a personality that resonated with Salt Lake City. During his five years with the Jazz, Evans is best known for winning the 2012 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. His best year with Utah was 2013-14 when he averaged 6.1 ppg and 4.7 rebounds.

Evans left the NBA in 2018 after a one-year stint with the Atlanta Hawks before heading overseas to continue his career. His career highlights outside of the USA include winning the West Asia Super League in 2023 and the Greek Super Cup in 2021.

Currently, Evans plays for the Bahraini Manama Club in the West Asia Super League, where he's averaged 8.3 points per game.

Here’s to Salt Lake City seeing more ex-players returning to the place where their careers got started.
