After signing a ten-day contract with the Suns on Wednesday, veteran point guard Isaiah Thomas expressed his readiness to contribute, asserting that he’s a better player now than he was at 25.

Thomas then sent out an encouraging tweet, pointing out that he is excited to make a positive impact wherever it is needed.

However, ahead of the Suns’ matchup with the 76ers, head coach Frank Vogel indicated that Thomas is unlikely to see rotation time unless the team faces injuries.

Vogel clarified Thomas’s role when questioned about potential playtime on Wednesday, emphasizing, “No, he’s here for depth. When we’re at full strength, he won’t be in the rotation.”

Vogel also mentioned the anticipated return of Josh Okogie, which will bolster the Suns’ roster depth.

Thomas last appeared in the NBA nearly two years ago, in April 2022, playing 17 games for the Charlotte Hornets where he averaged 12.9 minutes and 8.3 points per game.
