Giannis Antetokounmpo has now had several weeks to get to know new Milwaukee Bucks teammate Damian Lillard. During this time, the former back-to-back MVP has been able to get a good idea of what type of person Dame is behind the scenes.

So far, Giannis loves what he’s seeing from his new partner-in-crime.

In a recent interview, Giannis was asked to share his thoughts on what Lillard is like off the basketball court. According to Antetokounmpo, Dame is a very reserved individual who barely talks to his teammates:

“He’s so quiet, doesn’t say much,” Giannis said, via Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints. “He’s like a little version of me, a guard version. Quiet, goes about his business, takes care of his family, shows up and practices really hard. When he needs to be vocal, he’s vocal.”

Antetokounmpo isn’t complaining, though. Lillard may not be the loudest or most outgoing individual, but the seven-time All-Star is the type who lets his game do the talking. At the end of the day, that’s what matters the most.

It’s also important to note that last bit about Giannis’ statement. Antetokounmpo noted that while Dame might be the silent type, Lillard still knows when he needs to speak up. The 33-year-old was the talisman for the Portland Trail Blazers for 11 years, and he intends to bring this same leadership to Milwaukee.
