Unlike in recent years, the Golden State Warriors have been struggling this season to stay out of the Play-In Tournament. It doesn’t help that Andrew Wiggins and rookie Brandon Podziemski were seen having a heated exchange on the court.

Just recently, the Warriors lost to a San Antonio Spurs team without Victor Wembanyama in it. Fortunately, the Dubs had another chance to a strike out a win against them with the number one pick in the lineup.

In that contest, Jonathan Kuminga led the way for Golden State by dropping 22 points and five rebounds. Klay Thompson started for the Warriors and had 21 points on 40 percent shooting from deep. Meanwhile, Podziemski added 14 points to lead the Dubs’ reserve unit.

The Spurs, on the other hand, had Victor Wembanyama as their best player of the game with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Devin Vassell added 17 points on 62 percent shooting from downtown.

By the end of the game, the Warriors won and remained in the 10th seed with 34 wins and 30 losses. San Antonio is still at the bottom of the Western Conference with a record of 14-51.

Golden State Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins and Brandon Podziemski Get Into Heated Exchange

During the game, both Podziemski and Kuminga were seen defending Wembanyama. The latter caught the ball and passed it to Wiggins, who proceeded to miss an easy layup. Podziemski’s reaction and Wggins’ response to him can be seen in a video shared by LegendZ on X below:

Wiggins’ reaction is one of bewilderment caused by the disrespect Podziemski has shown him. While the rookie has only played 56 games so far, the former number one pick already has 10 seasons under his belt.

It remains to be seen whether this incident will affect how the team’s chemistry moving forward. What’s certain, though, is that the Warriors need every guy playing their hearts out if they want to grab a spot in the playoffs soon.
