Goran Dragic to sign with Brooklyn Nets

It looks like Steve Nash will be getting that reunion with Goran Dragic after all, as it was reported Monday the Slovenian point guard is signing a deal with the Brooklyn Nets

Dragic, 35, and the San Antonio Spurs reached an agreement on a contract buyout last week, allowing the Nets and other respective teams to pursue him. He last played five games for the Toronto Raptors before leaving the court to tend to a personal issue and was later traded the San Antonio but never played,

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Nash was very instrumental in recruiting his former Phoenix Suns teammate.

"Word is Dragic was determined to spend at least a week evaluating the teams chasing him the hardest," Stein reported, "and one source close to the process described him as 'really open-minded' to the pitches he’s getting. The Bucks notably have a significant backcourt role to offer, on top of their proven championship stock, while the Nets have Coach Steve Nash, who mentored Dragic in Phoenix when the Slovenian broke into the NBA, entrenched as their lead recruiter."

Over his 15-season career, Dragic has averaged 13.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists.
