Gregg Popovich: NBA bubble is safer than Texas because politicians are 'cowards'

NBA players have complained about the Orlando bubble, noting the subpar accommodations are not up to their standards. But while the food may be questionable, you won't hear any complaints out of Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, who believes that the bubble is one of the safest places to be despite being located in the state that recently set the record for most new cases reported in a day.

"The bubble is not Florida," Popovich said. "The bubble is one of the safest places you can be. Especially compared to outside the bubble in Arizona or Texas or Florida."

Popovich is never afraid to say what he's thinking, and he made it clear that the reason that places like Arizona or Texas or Florida aren't safe is because of politicians who are more concerned with reopening the economy than saving lives, including Texas Governor Greg Abbott

"The governor goes back and forth based on whether he has to satisfy Trump or listen to the numbers — politics show maybe he better do this because the virus has done that. But no overall policy, no principle. It’s all about politics. It’s all about what’s good for them. And ‘them’ means Trump. Because they’re all cowards and they’re all afraid."

This is hardly the first time Popovich has called out Trump, as he's made it very clear that he is not a fan of the President's policies or general temperament. And given the fact that America is seeing an increase in cases while so many other countries have seen a massive decrease, it's hard to argue with Popovich about the incompetence of politicians.
