Grizzlies dominate Timberwolves to even up first-round series
The Memphis Grizzlies tied up a first-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 124-96 blowout victory Tuesday night in Game 2.
Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant finished the game with 23 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds, leaving him just one rebound short of the team's first ever postseason triple-double. Morant made two of four three-point attempts and finished nine of 16 from the field.
While Morant came tantalizingly close to Memphis playoff history, the team's cautious approach made sense after the point guard had to exit the game for a stretch after taking a knee to the thigh.
In a 130-117 win in Game 1, Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards dominated with 36 points and Karl-Anthony Towns added 29 points. On Tuesday, Edwards was held to 20 points and Towns finished with 15.
The series will now head to Minnesota with Game 3 scheduled for Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
