Grizzlies' Ja Morant likely to miss Game 4 vs. Warriors

The knee injury suffered by Ja Morant is likely to keep the Memphis Grizzlies star out of action for Game 4 against the Golden State Warriors on Monday, coach Taylor Jenkins told reporters Sunday.

Morant, 22, has averaged 27.1 points, 9.8 assists and 8.0 rebounds in the Grizzlies' nine playoff games. He was injured in the fourth quarter of a 142-112 loss in Game 3 when the Warriors' Jordan Poole pulled on his knee during a double team trap.

Jenkins later told reporters that Poole "grabbed [Morant's] knee and yanked it" and said he was curious to see what happens next. Poole denied any ill intent and called it a "basketball play."

Earlier in the series, Warriors forward Draymond Green was ejected from Game 1 for a flagrant foul. The Grizzlies' Dillon Brooks was then ejected from Game 2 after hitting Gary Payton II over the head. Payton fractured his elbow during his fall on the play and Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters that Brooks "broke the code" among players for the hit.

The Warriors lead the series 2-1 and will host Game 4 on Monday night at 10 p.m. ET.
