The Grizzlies are re-signing shooting guard John Konchar to a three-year, $19 million contract extension, agent George Langberg told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Konchar, 26, is 6-foot-5 and averaged 4.8 points and 4.6 rebounds in 72 games last season, his third in the NBA, all in Memphis.

He’ll again be fighting for minutes with the likes of Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Tyus Jones and perhaps second-round pick Kennedy Chandler also in the backcourt. But clearly, the Grizzlies see something in Konchar they like.

“One of the league’s top recent development stories, Konchar will see his career earnings climb to $30 million with his new deal,” Wojnarowski wrote. “He’s transformed himself into one of the indispensable rotation players on a Grizzlies roster that had the league’s second-best regular-season record.”
