The deal, though significant, comes with a caveat, as Adams is sidelined for the remainder of the year. Despite the setback, Adams is considered an ideal interior presence for the Rockets. Adrian Wojnarowski writes , “Adams is expected to be recovered from knee surgery that cost him entire 2023-2024 season. The Rockets front office believes Adams brings the toughness and leadership that coach Ime Udoka craves for his team — and that he still can impact the game in a limited role behind Sengun.”
The Grizzlies, in return, bolster their lineup with the acquisition of Victor Oladipo and add valuable assets with three second-round picks.
