Hawks' COVID-19 list grows as Bogdan Bogdanovic, Gorgui Dieng, Malik Ellison placed in protocols

One week ago when the Atlanta Hawks signed Lance Stephenson to a 10-day hardship deal, the roster had been left relatively unscathed from COVID-19 this season, with just point guard Trae Young placed in the protocols. Later that day, though, center Clint Capela and forward Danilo Gallinari joined Young, and since Christmas, Atlanta has been hit hard.

On Tuesday afternoon, three more players were added to the growing list of unavailable players.

Chris Kirschner and Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Hawks made multiple transactions on Tuesday to help alleviate their COVID-19 situation.

Per Kirschner, Atlanta now has 13 players in the health and safety protocols, and with injuries to Solomon Hill and De'Andre Hunter, they currently have 15 players listed as out for Wednesday's game against the Chicago Bulls. Kirschner also tweeted that the following players would currently be available for the Hawks if the game were Tuesday afternoon: Cat Barber, Chaundee Brown, Capela, Malcolm Hill, Skylar Mays, Cam Reddish, Stephenson, Justin Tillman and Young.
