The Hawks finally snapped a four-game skid, holding off the Wizards for a 130-126 road win. But it wasn’t always smooth.

The Hawks actually led 123-108 with 2:16 left in the game. Then they couldn’t knock down their free throws, allowing Washington to climb back in it.

“The end of the game became a little bit of an adventure,” Atlanta coach Quin Snyder told reporters. “But I don’t want that to detract from the things that we did for the majority of the game.”

Trae Young led the way with 40 points and 13 assists, and Dejounte Murray added 32. Along with that, Jalen Johnson scored a career-high 24 points with 13 rebounds on a day when four Hawks finished with double-doubles.

“It’s up to me and (Dejounte) to put guys into positions to be successful,” Young said. ”We just try to mix it up and let everybody show their talent.”

Young finished just 14-of-19 from the free-throw line.

“I missed five free throws tonight, which is crazy,” he said. “That allowed them to stay in the game.”
