As the spotlight continues to shine on pro-am leagues across the country, more players are heading over to them, to put on a show for the fans. Trae Young got into taking part in the Drew League after hearing that LeBron James played in it and he then ended up playing the following week.
He teamed up with John Collins but the night ended in a somewhat embarrassing fashion as the two ended up losing their game. Collins, in particular, was roasted for his poor showing as he became the first NBA player to ever foul out in the Drew League. It seems that hasn't deterred him from playing in another one though, as it was announced that Collins and Trae will be teaming up at the CrawsOver Pro-Am and this time, Dejounte Murray will also be tagging along.
The CrawsOver Pro-Am League was formed by Jamal Crawford in Seattle and they have managed to have some big guns onboard this time around. Paolo Banchero and Chet Holmgren, the top 2 picks of the 2022 NBA Draft, took part on Saturday night, with the two of them combining for 84 points in a victory.
The Hawks trio will be hoping to do something similar and this will, in fact, be the first time that fans see them in action together. Dejounte was, of course, just traded to the Hawks this offseason from the San Antonio Spurs, to form a formidable All-Star backcourt with Young in Atlanta. The two seem like a good fit together, as they help cover the deficiencies in the other's game, with Trae being an excellent shooter while Murray is one of the better defenders at the guard spot. They will be looking to make a good first impression in the lead-up to what promises to be an interesting 2022-23 season.
