The Hawks have waived point guard Sharife Cooper, the team announced in a press release.

Cooper, 21, is 6-foot-1 and appeared in 13 games with the Hawks last season on a two-way contract. He also played 34 games for the G League’s College Park SkyHawks, averaging 17.4 points and 6.4 assists.

Originally selected by Atlanta in the second round (No. 48 overall) of the 2021 NBA Draft, Cooper just signed a two-way qualifying offer last week.

It seems, though, that the Hawks may have another player in mind for that two-way deal. Guard/forward Chaundee Brown Jr. holds the other two-way spot.
