Heat advance to Eastern Conference Finals with 99-90 win over 76ers

The Miami Heat are headed to the Eastern Conference Finals after a six-game victory in a series against the Philadelphia 76ers capped by a 99-90 road win on Thursday night.

Jimmy Butler led the way for the Heat in Game 6 with 32 points, four assists, and eight rebounds. He has averaged 28.7 points per game in the postseason after averaging 21.4 in the regular season.

The 76ers trailed by only one point at halftime, but the Heat opened the second half with a 19-4 run that buried Philadelphia. The lead ballooned to as many as 20 in the fourth quarter, the largest deficit in 76ers franchise history in a home elimination game.

Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey both scored 20 points in the loss.

Miami will meet either the Milwaukee Bucks or Boston Celtics to battle for a trip to the 2022 NBA Finals. The Bucks currently lead the series 3-2 with Game 6 scheduled for Friday.
