Heat's Victor Oladipo could be cleared for full contact in November

After undergoing surgery to repair his right quadriceps tendon, Miami Heat guard Victor Oladipo could be cleared for full-contact basketball in November, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jonathan Glashow told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Glashow performed Oladipo's surgery earlier this month and told Wojnarowski that he was surprised the guard could play NBA basketball with the previous state of his tendon.

"I repaired the quad tendon and did it a little differently than [he had] it done before," Glashow told ESPN. "The quad wasn't really hooked up. It was torn, and I reattached it. I was amazed he was playing with what he had. I'm very optimistic that I could clear him in six months, by November. I think he's going to play really well again.

"[The surgery] went extremely well, and it's healing beautifully. I'm confident he'll play next year."

Oladipo will be a free agent this summer and the Heat have expressed interest in keeping him on board in the future.

The 29-year-old joined Miami in a trade from the Houston Rockets in March. He played just four games with the Heat before re-injuring his quad against the Los Angeles Lakers in April.

In 33 total games during the 2020-21 season, Oladipo averaged 19.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 40.8% from the field and 32.6% from deep.
